Between your own computers
Sign in to the same Filelane account on your Mac and PC, or on two Macs. Confirm the connection and send to the computer by name. Free includes two of your own computers; Pro includes ten.
Filelane combines connected-computer sharing with expiring cloud-backed links for browser recipients. Blip focuses on direct app-to-app transfers and advertises no file-size limit. Choose around how your recipient works and how much you need to send.

This is Filelane’s upload-then-download workflow.
You use the desktop app. Your client opens a browser link.
The client downloads and extracts the ZIP without creating a Filelane account. File availability is three days on Free or thirty days on Pro.
Animated recreation of Filelane’s interface with example content. Layout adapts to your screen. This is an illustration, not a recording or speed test. Nothing is read from your files or clipboard.
This example shows Filelane. The sender installs the desktop app; the recipient opens a completed share link in a browser.
Collect your delivery into a folder and check unused space in My cloud. Include previews and supporting files the recipient needs to open it.
Drop into Public links. Keep the sender online until upload finishes, then copy and share the complete link privately.
Your computer can go offline after the completed upload. The recipient opens the link and downloads within the plan’s availability window.
Sign in to the same Filelane account on your Mac and PC, or on two Macs. Confirm the connection and send to the computer by name. Free includes two of your own computers; Pro includes ten.
Choose Add computer → Connect a person. Share the invitation and separate access code, then compare the verification fingerprint together. They use their own account. Only the computers you connect become destinations; no shared password is needed.
Connected guest computers do not use your own-computer allowance. Transfers still use the sender’s available storage.
For files and folders, create a public link. Your recipient downloads without an account. For public downloads above 256 MiB, use Chrome or Edge on a computer; other browsers support up to 256 MiB at a time.
Clipboard handoffs use the app at both ends. Anyone with a complete public link can open its files while it is available.
For example, upload Approval exports before leaving your desk. Once upload finishes, send the link to the client. They can open it that evening while your Mac is offline, as long as the delivery has not expired. This is an illustrative sequence, not a measured delivery time.
A browser link is useful for a client who only needs a single delivery. Filelane can hold the uploaded files until that person is ready, within the expiry window. A folder download arrives as a ZIP.
For frequent collaborators who already use Filelane, connect their account and send to their named computer instead. Both options are available in the same app, alongside sending to your own computers.
Blip’s official FAQ describes direct, real-time delivery between Blip users and says it does not offer web-link sharing. Its direct-transfer workflow avoids a separate cloud upload followed by a later download. Read Blip’s FAQ.
