Between your own computers
Sign in to the same Filelane account on your Mac and PC, or on two Macs. Confirm the connection and send to the computer by name. Free includes two of your own computers; Pro includes ten.
For a small team that keeps passing files between Macs and Windows PCs, Filelane gives each person a familiar destination. Connect coworkers through person invitations, then drop files onto one computer or use Send to several for a group handoff. Each person keeps their own account.

Your familiar computer grid. Open More computers, drop a batch into Send to several, and choose who receives it.
Your favorite computers, ready for the next handoff.
The same Filelane window expands to show additional connected computers. Three example files move into Send to several. Checkmarks identify three selected recipients, then Send starts their transfers. The animation ends with a success message. These are illustrations; this website does not read or send your files.
Filelane’s computer grid with example files and names; timing is compressed and the layout adapts to your screen. This illustration does not read or send your files.
This is today’s individual-account workflow. Shared team billing, pooled storage and centralized membership management are not available.
Install Filelane on the supported computers each person uses. Sign in individually and name each computer clearly. Your own computers share your account; coworkers do not need your password.
Use Add computer → Connect a person. Send the invitation and communicate its access code separately. Compare and confirm the displayed verification fingerprint before sending. Only the approved computer becomes a destination.
Drop files onto one coworker’s computer, or drop a batch into Send to several and select the connected computers that need it. More computers reveals additional destinations. Check the recipients and choose Send. Stay online until upload completes; each recipient downloads their copy before expiry.

Choose Add computer → Connect a person. Share the invitation and separate access code, then compare the verification fingerprint together. They use their own account. Only the computers you connect become destinations; no shared password is needed.
Connected guest computers do not use your own-computer allowance. Transfers still use the sender’s available storage.
For files and folders, create a public link. Your recipient downloads without an account. For public downloads above 256 MiB, use Chrome or Edge on a computer; other browsers support up to 256 MiB at a time.
Clipboard handoffs use the app at both ends. Anyone with a complete public link can open its files while it is available.
The illustration follows a fictional project lead sharing Project brief.pdf, Brand assets.zip and Notes.txt. More computers opens the rest of the connected computer grid. Dropping the batch into Send to several lets the sender select Maya, Jordan and Noor, then choose Send to 3.
Each selected computer receives separate copies. These coworkers use their own accounts; the checkmarks select destinations for this handoff. They do not create team seats or a shared folder. A coworker can return a file from their own account. Agree who owns the next edit, because Filelane does not merge changes or update copies already sent.
A short instruction can travel as an explicit clipboard item: send it, let the recipient choose Copy, then paste. For the final client package, switch to a browser download link. See the clipboard workflow.
Sign in with your own account and confirm the connection. Free allows two of your own computers; Pro allows ten. These allowances describe your devices, not a number of team members.
They use their own account and a person connection. An approved guest computer does not consume your own-computer allowance. Sending to it uses your account’s storage; their return delivery uses theirs.
Upload a public file or folder link. The recipient downloads through a supported browser without a Filelane account. Share it only with the intended people; anyone with the complete link can access it while available.
Name files with a revision, say who owns the next edit, and agree where final copies are kept. A successful transfer is not an approval or a backup.
Each account has its own storage and subscription. Pro is $12 USD per month or $120 USD per year for that account. There is no shared team checkout, pooled quota, central member administration, organizational ownership or enterprise access policy.
If you need shared editing, membership controls or an organization-wide archive, use tools built for those needs. Filelane can handle the file handoff alongside them. Read the pricing explanation before deciding which people need Pro.
